Warranty Policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026
Manufacturer Warranty
All products sold by Stellar Technologies are genuine, authorised-channel stock and carry the manufacturer's standard warranty for South Africa. Warranty periods vary by product and brand; typical ranges are 12β36 months for components and peripherals, and up to 24 months for laptops and desktops.
How Warranty Claims Work
Submit a claim via our Returns Request page, selecting "Warranty Claim" as the reason, with a clear description of the fault and supporting photos or video. We assess your claim, may ask diagnostic questions, then repair, replace, or refund as appropriate via the manufacturer or distributor's warranty process. Where a product must be sent for assessment, turnaround is typically 10β21 business days.
Dead On Arrival (DOA)
If a product fails within 7 days of delivery due to a manufacturing fault, report it as DOA via the Returns Request page. DOA claims reported within this window are prioritised for replacement rather than repair, stock permitting.
What Warranty Covers
- Manufacturing defects and component failures under normal, intended use
- Hardware that fails to perform as specified, where the fault isn't caused by misuse, damage, or unauthorised modification
What Warranty Does Not Cover
- Physical damage, including drops, knocks, cracks, bent pins/connectors, or crushing
- Liquid damage, corrosion, or exposure to moisture
- Damage from power surges, incorrect voltage, or use without appropriate surge/UPS protection
- Cosmetic wear and tear from normal use
- Damage caused by unauthorised repair, modification, or opening of sealed components
- Removed, altered, or illegible serial numbers or warranty seals
- Consumable components beyond their expected service life
- Compatibility issues with third-party hardware/software not specified by the manufacturer
- Damage from overclocking, unsupported firmware, or BIOS modifications outside manufacturer specifications
Software Issues
Our warranty covers hardware faults only. We do not provide warranty cover for operating system errors, corrupted installations, malware, driver conflicts unrelated to a hardware fault, data loss (back up your data before sending a device in β we are not responsible for data loss during repair/diagnostics), or third-party software compatibility issues. Where a reported fault is diagnosed as software-related, this may fall outside warranty and any remedial work may be chargeable.
Proof of Purchase
A valid order number or invoice from Stellar Technologies is required for all warranty claims. Warranty is tied to the original purchase and is not automatically transferable unless the manufacturer's policy states otherwise.
Out-of-Warranty Support
For products outside their warranty period, we're still happy to help diagnose issues and can advise on manufacturer-direct repair options or a replacement purchase.
